      Hi,

I have UK, USA and JP SNES/SFC consoles and all of them give me a buzz on audio when using RGB (SCART). Though composite and s-video it’s fine. I’ve tried it on my CRT and LCD and it’s the same. It’s worse on white screens and gets worse as I raise the volume. I have a few different RGB cables (NTSC and PAL) and wonder if there’s a fix or if a more expensive cable that may have better shielding would help. I’ve searched online for a solution and haven’t come up with anything definitive or anyone saying better cables have actually helped.

Has anyone had any experience with this and found something that will help?

      Thanks

I bought a shielded cable from http://retrogamingcables.co.uk and that has resolved the issue.

Indeed this is a common problem with SCART cables, I’m actually surprised nobody has made a cable that routes the audio completely separately from the video.

The SNES digital audio mod is also a good way to eliminate the problem completely, if your setup supports digital audio.
