      Which kind of lights are we talking about (bulb, fluorescent, LED etc.)? At least with fluorescent lights on/off switching can generate surges / EMI to power network which can cause all kind of issues.

          It could still be noisy power going into the console or TV, or RF leaking through an unshielded video cable. Does this happen on more than one console, with more than 1 set of video cables?

            I did some more testing.
            It happens with every console through RGB or component (for the ps2).
            However, the issue is solved when I connect my consoles directly to an older flat tv with scart input.
