Recently obtained a dead OSSC from someone and did some testing. Saw U6 had a short. Removed it and it still had a short. One of the traces I believe was going to the TVP so I removed that and the short went away. Replaced U1 with a new TVP and replaced U6 with another 3.3 LDO (not the same package size though) (27533G). Without the 3.3v it does a -2 error on startup which indicates the 7356 isn’t accessible which seems weird since I had to replace the TVP. Anyway, with the LDO it powers up, didn’t accept any remote commands and didn’t have the test pattern output to TV. I held button 2 and factory defaulted it, then remote worked. Upgraded to latest firmware and still no test pattern. It sees a signal from SCART though just no output to HDMI. Any ideas on what I can further test? I reflowed the TVP a few times to be sure with the last time using a lot of liquid tacky no clean flux and drag soldering to get it on as well as I could. No shorts that I can find.

I suppose it’s possible that using a different LDO is causing it but it does seem unlikely.

EDIT: Forgot to say, it was killed by sending 12v or so to it originally. My personal OSSC works fine so I can eliminate anything weird with cables/supply.

EDIT 2: Based upon further research it seems that IT6613 might be toast. Hopefully I can find someone with one within the US.

You might need to replace the IT6613E entirely but that’s just an educated guess.
