I was playing on my dreamcast via the VGA port and after a while I noticed the screen was starting to flicker. I checked the forum to see if this has been reported before and read about some of the settings which may help.

Before turning everything back on I checked all the cables again to make sure they are plugged in correctly and there’s no damage, that’s when the image seemed to be very blue/green ish, it does seem like red signal isn’t being out put.

I plugged the vga port directly in to my monitor and that displays fine.

Plugged it back in to the ossc and reds aren’t showing.

      Scart is working fine.

If you gently wiggle the cable is there any sign of the red coming back, even temporarily?

When I wiggle the cable there’s change the colours.

I thought it may be the cable but it seems fine when plugged directly in to a monitor. I also have 2 dreamcasts and its the same for both via VGA.

Sounds like the VGA socket has some loose connections internally or a bad connection to the PCB.

Sorry there was a typo, when I wiggle there is NO colour change when I wiggle the cable.

                  No worries.

What do I need to do? Could it be repaired or are there spare about? I’ve grown very fond of it. I’ve actually been working on a video showing it off for about a week lol.

I have a very similar problem with my OSSC using a Dreamcast via VGA. Everything has been working fine until this evening when I discovered the white colours are now all cyan looking and the picture has started to flicker a bit. I have done all the usual things; replaced all cables, directly hooked up VGA to display and capture card, tried a second Dreamcast, etc. I have flashed new/old firmware and reset all OSSC setting. All without any success.

Is it possible to RMA this one too please? It was purchased last November, I have purchase order number I can forward if required with additional details.

Thanks for the reply. I have just sent an email to Matt Buxton in regards to RMA, hope this is okay?
