      During the site upgrade, we lost around 4 months of posts.

      The frustrating thing is, these were backed up, but our WordPress installation simply refuses to re-import them, we simply get a page that says “videogameperfection.com is currently unable to handle this request – HTTP ERROR 500”

      Apart from doing it all by hand, we can’t seem to figure out a way to do this. If anyone is a WordPress expert and can help us, please let me know.

        I also lost my VGP account with this change and had to create a new one.

          Shame I didn’t update the TV compatibility thread OP this christmas holiday as I had planned… Hope you can get this sorted eventually.

            An update to this situation. While I have all the posts I can’t find an easy way to restore them.

            It would be easier if I could just change a post’s author, but BBPress doesn’t allow for this.

            The only way I can see is if I do the following.

            1) Log in as your account
            2) Recreate your posts
            3) Change timestamps on your posts to match when they were originally posted
            4) Hand the account back to you and you change your password.

            This is FAR from best practise, but if there are posts you really need and you’re happy to do this, please let me know.

              I cant post topics for some reason despite being able to before the upgrade. A topic I just posted earlier is in a moderation queue and has yet to be approved.

                I seem to have the same problem, topic stuck in moderation. Hoping the mods are just busy and not that there’s a bigger issue at hand.

                  hmm yeah that’s strange, as I didn’t get a notification.

                  Edit – Sorry everyone, don’t know why it suddenly started holding so many posts for moderation! I’ll check more frequently in future. Your posts are now approved.

                    I just edited that post fixing the img urls, and the topic went into moderation again. Is it the HTML img tags? If it is, thats weird as it’s what the editor inserts when you hit the IMG button. Other editor buttons also insert HTML.

                      So there were definitely issues with the site holding posts and replies as spam for some reason. We DID have to change antispam plugins after the upgrade as the old one was discontinued.


                      @dead_screem                       You could be onto something there, let me check the settings.
