      Hi all,

I recently updated the softmod on my original PAL Xbox to Rocky5’s Softmodding Tool. I’ve the console set to output NTSC M, and 480p and 720p enabled. When I run games through official Microsoft component cables into my OSSC, I see “525p” displayed on the OSSC, and I’ve seemingly no option to line double (it says “unsupported” or similar when I try).

I thought there was a x2 line doubling available for 480p content? Do I need to tweak anything else to enable that as an option to me?

It sounds like what’s happening is that the OSSC is indeed line-doubling 480p to 960p, but your display either doesn’t support 960p or doesn’t support the resulting framerate.

Not sure that’s the case; the OSSC would display something higher than 525p otherwise (and when I select x2 as an option it says it isn’t supported).

The OSSC displays the input video mode, not the output video mode. If it’s receiving 525p (480p), it will display that on its LCD whether, regardless of any transformations it’s doing, like line2x to 960p.
