      I am a bit late to this thread, but maybe it idea could be useful for others. You can gain an extra centimeter or so of cable length by cutting away the strain releave bar of the plug that goes into the FPGA board.

          My instructions on the github page talk about two 4-pin headers and either 4 single pins (for long board installation) or one 2-pin header (for short board installation). If these headers are not included in the kit, this would of course lead to some confustion.
          I recommend to include the two 4-pin headers and additional headers for both options (one 2-pin and four 1-pin).
          If cutting the headers is too much work, you also could include a longer pin strip for the users to break apart themselves.
