@marqs @Zoomer88
I tapped the Mega Drive’s audio before the amp and routed it to the headphone jack; the distortion is gone.
I recommend doing that anyway unless you plan on using headphones with the Mega Drive, since the audio has less noise.
I’m not familiar with model 2s, but if they do output line level stereo through the minidin I don’t see why they would have an issue with distortion.
I’m also having the same issue with my OSSC 1.6. My 1.5 with audio mod sounds fine with the same console and cables, but I’m getting audio distortion on the Mega Drive with 1.6 over HDMI, even though A1 out sounds normal.
@marqs I connected the headphone out from the Mega Drive to A3 in and used a VGA source, but the distortion is still there.
I could record samples if that would help.
I thought the SNES issues were only on TVs, due to nonstandard video settings. Have there been reported issues with computer monitors as well?
I was finally able to check with a multimeter; there is no continuity across either the F1 fuse or the D5 diode.
Thanks Harrumph, I’ll test with a multimeter when I get a chance in a few days. It is odd though, the PSU is definitely correct.
Thanks Bucko, I’ll let you know what happens.
