Yes some of my profiles were borked. Is there no way to read profiles off the OSSC and write back to the OSSC? Really painful to set up profiles again when something hasnt worked.
The OSD is AMAZING, an awesome feature. One suggestion – when changing profiles, is it possible to have the OSD pop up with the profile name for a few seconds, like a TV does when changing channels?
The name of the profile doesnt show anywhere currently – you have to drill into Settings to make sure you’re in the correct oneUpdated! Works great, thanks for working on that Marqs.
But good grief, what a pain in the arse to write down all settings from each profile and then enter back in….

February 3, 2018 at 1:17 AM in reply to: Bad audio quality through SCART from Genesis (using headphone out) – OSSC 1.6 #18947Only time I hear it is via OSSC HDMI, headphones/OSSC analogue/MD 3.5mm jack to AVR all sound fine. Maybe I have a different model 1 to yours but still get the distortion via the OSSC.
Marqs – what does this mean for those not as knowledgeable as yourself? Is there a possible fix/fw change without having to hard mod the MD/OSSC or is that our only option?

December 13, 2017 at 12:15 PM in reply to: Bad audio quality through SCART from Genesis (using headphone out) – OSSC 1.6 #17978So our only option is to mod the MD or mod the cable, which works fine with any other device?

December 8, 2017 at 11:52 PM in reply to: Bad audio quality through SCART from Genesis (using headphone out) – OSSC 1.6 #17902@Marqs – When you say external, do you mean separate to the MD? You mean from another source?
I have tested the MD audio into AV1 using a separate audio cable whilst MD is connected to AV1 scart and still have the same issue.
December 8, 2017 at 12:14 AM in reply to: Bad audio quality through SCART from Genesis (using headphone out) – OSSC 1.6 #17882Harrumph – I have already mentioned that I tried running a separate 3.5mm to 3.5mm audio cable from the MD to the 3.5mm AV1 In jack. This is a completely separate cable from the RetroGaming scart cable. There is still the same distortion.
I have tried headphones from the MD headphone jack and there is no distortion.
Only time distortion is present is when audio (either via separate 3.5 jack cable or via RetroGaming scart/audio cable) is running through the OSSC.
Has anyone else tested this using the games affected above?
December 7, 2017 at 11:21 AM in reply to: Bad audio quality through SCART from Genesis (using headphone out) – OSSC 1.6 #17859I was able to use a 3.5mm jack from the MD headphone jack to the AV1 input on the OSSC (1.6). It plays audio when on AV1 scart.
Sound is the same as using the scart audio cable – distortion still present.
Thats the TV, receiver, MD and scart cable eliminated.

It would be helpful if someone else could test by playing those two games i mentioned in my post above
December 7, 2017 at 12:25 AM in reply to: Bad audio quality through SCART from Genesis (using headphone out) – OSSC 1.6 #17844All my cables are from RetroGamingCables, incuding the MD1 scart.
I have no audio issues from any other console.

I can confirm I also have this problem on a Jap MD 1 with a Retro RGB scart into headphone jack.
Happens with optical from TV to my receiver (OSSC is direct to TV) – also happens when I have sound only routed through my TV, which removes the receiver out of the equation
Most notable on Streets of Rage 2 on the character selection screen, lots of distortion on the high end. Can also hear on the intro screen, distortion on each bass drum hit.
Also noticeable on Sonic 1.
Tried changing the downsampling option on the OSSC but this made it even worse.
I thought my speakers were busted at first but no other consoles have this issue (SFC, NeoGeoCD)
Just to make sure, I tested with headphones direct into the MD, no distortion, sounds great.
Cant be the MD or receiver.
Can this be tested by others?
