Hello,
i will write short, what I want…
I use the OSSC Pro with AV-Extension and AV-Adapter to transform the NTSC signal (59.94hz) from mini PC to my 100hz / 120hz CRT… (PC->HDMI->OSSC-Pro->VGA->SCART->CRT)!
Everything is ok, signal is there, i use the LM-A Mode to drop my 720p lines of mini pc to 240p / 480i to my CRT (720p -> Line-Dropping -> 240p / 480i). I use the full RGB colorspace, to get a sharp picture via RGB-SCART of my CRT….
BUT:
For example N64-Games everything seems to be ok, seems! Straight vertical scrolling you see on 480i are not smooth, but maybe i can accept that…
In SNES-Games with 240p you see even more problems… it’s easy to see disturbed scrolling and some ghosting, for example in Super Mario World on “?-Boxes” and so one…
I know, it’s more or less a problem with 100 / 120 hz processing of the TV… ok… but i want to use this thread to get tricks and tweaks, that the problems become smaller…
Do you know websites or own tweaks to get a smooth picture scrolling for 60 hz games in 240p / 480i ?
My own tweaks are followed:
– use the service menue:
to activate the VCO with NTSC protocoll (nice tweak, my own find!),
to deactive SVM or VM
– use the software of PC:
to activate VSYNC, VSYNC-Swap-Intervall = 1 in RetroArch (emulator),
to deactivate threaded video,
to activate VSYNC generally in graphic driver
These tricks are great, but even thought you see ghosting in scrolling and dancing crawls in scrolling for 240p in 120 hz… the main problem seems to be the TV itselfs, the Sony Trinitron KV36-FS-70 in DRC100-mode… i want use 120 hz mode implicit because no flicker and you see scan-lines…
There’re a nice guy outside, who can help me to fix the problem with such kind of TVs?
