I have a retrotink 2x PRO connected to a NEC 2190UXP – it is an older but very nice 1600×1200 monitor.

Works great – 2x PRO is connected to the monitor with a DVI-HDMI cable and the source is S-Video.

BUT … if I swap in the 2x SCART, nothing shows up on the monitor at all. Doesn’t even register that there is a device there – reports no signal.

I know it all works because I can plug the 2x SCART into a newer HDMI monitor and it all works fine … but the olde DVI monitor refuses to see anything – won’t even show the test pattern and says there is no signal.

So what is the difference between these two devices in terms of signal output ?

Why is the NEC 1600×1200 monitor perfectly happy with the 2x PRO signal but doesn’t even notice the 2x SCART is there ?

    Thanks.

This is your same monitor that won’t work with OSSC right? That suggests something a little strange is going on with the monitor.

First of all make sure your RetroTINK is up to date, then try forcing it into DVI mode:-

DVI mode: Hold the 2X/Filter button while connecting usb power to enable DVI mode, release after 2 led flashes. Note that in DVI mode there is no audio output, and will output RGB Full Range (0-255).

Yes – same monitor. ALSO, I have two identical monitors of this model and they both behave the same.

On the 2x SCART I did what you said and held filter while connecting power … I got solid red+green LED and there was never a blink – tried twice for 30+ seconds …

Checking back on this … did I misunderstand your directions for the DVI mode ? I could not get the 2x SCART to do anything like what you described – see above …

    Thanks.

Make sure you’re on the latest firmware for the 2X SCART
