      Hi all,

should I be able to get the Extron 580i 240p “downscale” (https://videogameperfection.com/2019/06/04/converting-extron-interface/) by outputting PS2 480i passthrough into a HDMI>VGA adapter, and then that straight into the Extron device? Or do I need to buy something like a Sync Strike?

Can/does 480i work being sent through HDMI?

        PS2? Do you mean PS3? PS2 doesn’t output HDMI (yet, I hear Dan’s working on it 🙂 )

No; I meant PS2 (through the OSSC). So PS2-via-SCART>OSSC>HDMI-to-VGA-adapter>Extron>CRT TV.

Ah right I see, no that won’t work I’m afraid. Connect your PS2 directly to your Extron interface using a sync stripper.

Thanks @BuckoA51; I’ve ordered a Sync Strike in preparation. That device is needed to get clean csync into the Extron, right?

I used a sync in SCART board to attach first to my Extron Crosspoint then out from there to the interface, but I don’t see why Sync Strike wouldn’t work.
