      Hi,

I have my A1200 linked to the OSSC with VGA cable, passing through and connected to my Samsung monitor with HDMI cable.

Thanks to someone’s very helpful post on how to put all settings for the Amiga, I have a stable & good image.

All is good when I’m using Line5x (widescreen, fully used)

But when I want to use Line3x (same settings, but 4:3) my monitor will turn blank for a few seconds at random intervals.

I thought it was the Freesync option, but toggling that didn’t do anything.

Anyone have an idea how to prevent the monitor from resetting the image?

If we’re talking the OSSC Classic a SCART cable will generally give better results, especially with the Amiga’s 15khz modes. I’m not sure if that will solve the blanking issue as that could be the monitor not fully tolerating the Amiga’s clock or various other reasons but, certainly worth a try.

Also, which firmware are you using on the OSSC?

I have the OSSC v1.8, just got it. I will need to find the original scart cable, I dont have that one.

OSSC was running 1.07, but now with latest 1.20 it has the same issue.

          Thanks for your feedback.

Any idea why Line3x is triggering this and Line5x is not?

If anything I’d have expected that to be the other way around (3x fine 5x not) but, every monitor is slightly different it seems.

That combo can be really picky, especially with modern Samsung panels not liking the Amiga’s refresh rates. Best tips are dialing in OSSC settings properly or forcing compatible modes, otherwise you will keep getting sync issues or no signal.

Does the OSSC front LED blink during the cutouts, and do they occur with default settings in L3x Generic 4:3 mode? You could try setting Sync opt -> ADC PLL BW to Ultra Low which might help.
