      My setup:

      – PAL-Wii (first version with GameCube ports; I also tried the later version without the GC ports)
      – Orignal Nintendo Wii Component cable

I can’t seem to get a decent picture from the console in 480p, as the horizontal axis is extremely unsharp. Playing with the usual settings (Video LPF, Sampling phase) doesn’t help.

I know that the Wii is infamous for its lackluster signal quality, yet I wonder… did anybody manage to get a decent picuture from the console?
And if you did – how did you do that?

I doubt you can get a good picture out of the Wii with its blurry output. Make sure the 480p sampler is on Auto or DTV 480p so it samples the correct amount of pixels.

          Aww, that’s a shame.

Btw, the Wii’s 480i output seems a lot sharper horizontally, but on the OSSC, 480i means bob deinterlacing, so while you gain horizontal sharpness, you lose vertical sharpness and image stability. Not a worthwhile trade.
