Alright, let me start off by saying I’m very new to RGB. My Neo Geo CMVS (JNX) is the first console that has had this output, so it could just be my own stupidity. (Very likely.)
Anyhow…just hooked up my OSSC 1.6 and have to say right away..the picture quality versus using Composite is amazing. I can tell I will like this thing…if I can get it to work.
My set-up is a bit convoluted. My CMVS (now) feeds via RGB to the OSSC. From there, HDMI to an HDMI Switch (which I’ve had for a while with no issues on any other system.) From there, it feeds to the TV. From the TV, the sound it inputed via HDMI to my Bose Soundtouch 520.
So, let’s start with the TV. I am using a Samsung UN50KU6300F, which there is a similar model on the compatibility list that requests FM .77, but would assume the 1.6 has that firmware already? (If not…let me know and I will take that step first.) I may try to hook up an older Sony I used to use and see if it works on there. The problem on the TV itself is just the color. It’s quite blue. Otherwise seems to run quite nicely and much more clear. I’ve tried 2x, 3x, 4x & 5x…and it’s all the same.
As for sound, all I’m getting is a slight buzzing. There is no actual game sound to it what-so-ever. Again, tried 2x-5x and no resolution. The CMVS worked fine through composite, so I know it works fine. Tried multiple games to be sure, but it’s the same for each one.
Again, I am pretty new to this…and was trying to find possible solutions before posting, but just coming up empty. Any suggestions are more than welcome.
