Dreamcast VGA via OSSC colour issue.

* Dreamcast PAL, MODEL No.HKT-3030.
* Dreamcast to VGA – Kaico Dreamcast VGA cable.
* Connected to VGA input on OSSC, HDMI is direct from OSSC to TV.
* TV – LG WebOS TV UJ630V – Software Version 05.80.65
* OSSC sync info – AV3: RGBHV 525p 31.46kHz 59.94Hz

Hi, wonder if anyone can help, please? new OSSC user here.

I have tried running a Dreamcast VGA > OSSC > TV but seem to be missing a colour channel, possibly red?
I have tried the Dreamcast with the VGA cable plugged directly into another TV that has a VGA input and it works fine.
Are there settings I need to update first to get it to work or should the OSSC work out the box?

Your OSSC is faulty, get in touch with us or whomever sold it to you.

Seems like some older(???) vga-boxes for the Dreamcast can do some damage on the A/D converter IC (TVP7002 = U1). The broken TVP7002 needs to be replaced in order to have a fully working OSSC again.

Could you please tell us which vga-box/-cable you’ve used for connecting your Dreamcast to the OSSC? This information may be helpful in doing some research regarding this issue (since it seem to affect only a small group of Dreamcast owners and it’s not exactly clear yet, which combination of DC + cable/box could cause it and why).

I am using the Kaico SEGA Dreamcast DC VGA High Definition Cable RCA Sound Adapter HD PAL/NTSC.

I now have a replacement OSSC, and it is working fine with this cable.

I would just like to offer my two cents to say that I am using the same VGA adaptor on the OSSC and have not experienced any problems.
