Hello, I recently received the 8 in 2 out GameScare switch and while it does power on, I’m seeing severe video noise when using it.
My setup was previously just using an OSSC (also bought from VGP) which had no noise issues on neogeo/SNES/MD. When I added the GameScare switch and a RGCUK 0.5m shielded SCART cable though, it does sync, but there are these flickering horizontal bars of noise added to the output. All consoles show the same issue. Both the RGCUK shielded cable and a cheaper SCART cable show the same issue.
I believe it is coming from the WiFi antenna on the GameScare (ESP32?) based on these observations:
1. The noise gets much worse while loading the WiFi menu.
2. The noise goes away when I cover the antenna with my hand. Noise immediately comes back when I stop covering the antenna.
I don’t see a way to disable the WiFi so it seems stuck with the noise. Is there anything I can do in terms of troubleshooting or is the switch defective?
Below is a photo where I tired to capture one of the rapidly flickering noise bars. Notice how it’s darker than the surrounding image. It looks much worse in motion.
