I did say “arguably”; you probably won’t notice a difference. 🙂

Unfortunately, the Kuro doesn’t have the RGBHV/RGBS toggle for the DE-15 output that the Toro has, so you won’t be able to hook it up to AV1 on the OSSC with a DE-15 to SCART cable; instead, you’ll need something like an Extron RGB interface and a BNC to SCART cable. (So, maybe $50 more in equipment?)

I’m the happy owner of an Extron RGB 468xi AKM UP AAP ! Before buying the OSSC, I tried to go the hard way (the OSSC appeared to me like the easy way to go and I wanted to learn), so I bought myself some Extron equipment.
Turns out, the System 4 LDxi (a line doubler) doesn’t do a really good job, it doesn’t work above 800×600 and my primary consoles are 480p…
I’m selling those on Ebay if someone wants them, and for really cheap.

Getting this thread back on topic, any suggested settings I can try Bucko or if indeed Hydro Thunder is alternating lines of output are we out of luck?

Idk if any of this information helps but when I hook my Dreamcast vga I don’t have a scart cable to test through a toro, rgbs or rgbhv toggle on toro doesn’t matter, with OSSC firebrandx’s profile hydrothunder “hot new edition” red disc it doesn’t line double will only do 480 passthrough. So far hydrothunder is the only game in my library to show this problem.

I’ve been enjoying Hydro Thunder on Dreamcast in stunning OSSC VGA brilliance for a while now using a cable I bought from Amazon. I’m surprised how great this cable plus the ossc has been. So far perfect compatibility with every game I’ve tried.

I’ve tried this cable before, honestly it’s pretty decent especially for the price (£12 if I remember correctly)

anybody ever sort this out by chance? I’m having the same issue. Using PACKAPUNCH SCART and OSSC.
every game works fine except this one.. there’s gotta be a way to do it, maybe a patch? I tried VGA patching it with GDEMU SD Maker but that didnt do anything

on a side note.. i also can’t really get the pixels nearly as sharp on DC as I can on other consoles, even after dialing in all the recommended settings.. dialing them in makes it better, but still slight halo

I played Hydro Thunder recently and didn’t have issues, but my Dreamcast is currently in for repairs.
