Just brought the old NES home from my parents’ place where it’s been gathering dust for the last ~15 years. First I connected it to my HDTV with the original RF cable. The image was otherwise fine (for the input) but it kept flashing every ~half second with some kind of disturbances. Same with the audio.

Then I connected it with the composite cables through the OSSC to a computer monitor (new’ish cables). There was a very weak shadow of an image on screen, almost completely black. Audio was fine, though.

So I guess I’ll proceed by trying to clean up the connector, check the cables etc, but I’m a bit concerned if the composite output is somehow broken. Could there be something I can do with the OSSC to debug/solve this problem?

Hmm, should’ve probably read this before posting: http://junkerhq.net/xrgb/index.php?title=NES#OSSC_Specific_settings … I indeed had this little composite-to-SCART adapter the article is referring to. So, onwards to modding the console it is, then.
