Is 480i Line 4x (laced) possible?

    Apologies if stupid but very straightforward question, is possible to output say 960i the way 1440/1728i Line3x (laced) does, but instead of line tripling, to still get line-quadrupled output whilst avoiding bob-deinterlacing and letting display deinterlace for me.

    I’m well aware 960i might not be a common, or even supported resolution- but in such case would it also not be possible to fit a 960i output in a 1080i frame (a more supported interlaced resolution.)


    Doing that would likely result in an image that wouldn’t be much different from the existing 2x bob deinterlacing. With the source lines doubled, the deinterlacing in the display might not detect and process static content the same as it would with a native 1080i image, but get tricked into keeping each field separate effectivity resulting in a bob deinterlace anyway.
