So in your case it may be some bridged pins on U1 or U17 too (U1 gets pretty hot – maybe a tiny solder ball was there and moved thanks to the heat and some flux residue).
Thanks for the suggestion.
I took the heatsink off and had a look at U1 and then U17 but I didn’t see anything obvious wrong.
The USB Blaster I ordered from Amazon arrived this afternoon.
I was able to successfully flash firmware .87 onto the unit.
After restart it was working again.
I flashed firmware .88 from an SD card and I am back in business. All my settings and profiles were even still there.
I am curious why this happened.
At the time this occurred, I was using the MiSTer FPGA to the OSSC using an HDMI to component adapter.
I had the MiSTer configured with direct_video=1. I am wondering if it did not like the sync signal? My Sony CRT had no issue with it.
I was just fooling around because the Mister component out via the IO board is pretty dark. The brightness isn’t an issue with the OSSC, but on the CRT it is.
I regret fooling with it.
Thanks again for the help.
