Hello! I am using the AV4 port of the OSSC Pro to downscale my hdmi digital consoles to output 480p for my CRT and add fake scanlines. However, there is no audio. I have tried setting my consoles to stereo output and that does not help. I am occasionally getting crackling noise. I know audio works on the OSSC pro as my analog consoles are plugged into AV1 and work fine. Although, if that input is selected without a source I do get glitch noises.
My set up is: Video game consoles > HDMI switch > OSSC Pro > Hdmi to Component transcoder > Audio Video Receiver > CRT
October 18, 2025 at 8:58 AM #67486Make sure the consoles are set manually to output only stereo. It’s possible that they’re outputting 5.1 LPCM or Dolby Digital.

May 15, 2026 at 3:02 AM #69439Whoops, I guess I never fixed this issue. I have once again been trying to use the OSSC Pro as a downscaler and am getting no audio. This time I am using the Extra AV out to output the analog signal to my CRT.</p>
I know the HDMI is delivering audio because if I plug it into my OLED TV it works perfectly.Plugging that same HDMI cable into the AV4 input on the OSSC gives me display but no audio. I thought that the AV4 input just wasn’t going through the Extra AV out but plugging the OSSC HDMI output into my OLED still gives me no audio.
In fact, I just realized through my testing that I cannot get audio to work at all. I plugged my Wii into the component input to test out if the analog audio works and I also get a display with no audio on both the CRT and the OLED.
Playing with the Audio Options changes nothing.

I needed a HDMI to HDMI+SPDIF audio extractor and a SPDIF to 3.5 mm converter. I also needed to set my consoles to stereo or get the more expensive Dolby Digital decoder SPDIF to 3.5 mm converter. It’s a lot of extra hardware but I got audio working so I’m happy. If you know how I could simplify and optimize that would be appreciated.
May 16, 2026 at 10:52 AM #69460You can get versions of those audio extractors that have 3.5mm and/or RCA outputs built in, or even something like the StarTech HD2A which has -only- a 3.5mm output which doubles as an optical out.
May 19, 2026 at 8:58 PM #69497It’s a bit hard to follow what has been tried out, but you shouldn’t need any extra HW if you own Extra AV out card. That however assumes your HDMI consoles output LCPM 2.0ch output. In some cases it cannot be set manually but you need to select “2ch audio” EDID preset under AV4 video in opt.
