      Greetings,

I have an older OSSC which works great with everything, including a 1600×1200 LP2065 PC monitor. I bought an OSSC 1.8 for the shadow mask emulation so that I can better enjoy using retro CRT PC content in MS-DOS and what not. However, when hooking up the new 1.8 OSSC, I get a black screen. At first I was afraid that it was defective, but I connected the same PC to my 4k TV and it works. I thought maybe something happened to the LP2065, but my original OSSC is working fine with it. I don’t have the OSSC menu display with the 1.8, so I am mashing buttons on the remote trying to find a solution. The LP2065 is detecting a signal bacuse it goes out of sleep mode with the orange light becoming green.

Any advice and help will be greatly appreciated as this LP2065 is a 4:3 1600×1200@75Hz and with MS-DOS requiring 70Hz and with shadow mask emulation, this monitor w/ OSSC 1.8 could be a worthy replacement for a CRT PC monitor.

      Many thanks!
      William

EDIT: The display image is randomly flickering in for a brief second and then return to the black screen. I have tried different cables and adapters and both DVI ports on the monitor and am getting the same results.

I found the option. Tx Mode: DVI. I don’t recall having to do this with my old OSSC, but it has been a long while since I played with the settings, so perhaps I forgot. Now I just have to play with the settings in order to emulate what 300×200 looks like on a PC CRT monitor!

Remember turning on DVI mode disables sound output too.

It’s okay. I am using retro sound cards with PC speakers. It is just a challenge getting decent displays for MS-DOS gaming. I am playing with the shadow mask and scanline settings, but the effect is intense at 1024×768. I am going to try it out on my main MS-DOS system at 300×200 and see what I can do.
