      Firmware version 1.22 has been released:

      * add HDMI aspect ratio flag option
      * fix Last Used setting for initial input
      * add compatibility option for disabling HDMI PR2x
      * add support for input/profile select via JTAG UART

      Note: SD card used for upgrade needs to be formatted with cluster size of >=8kB, otherwise the update fails with error -7.

          JunkerHQ wiki seems to be down so notes will be added later. The UART setting works similat to Pro and disabling PR2x can improve shadow mask quality with 240p/288p Line6x and 480p Line3x.

            Is the USB Blaster mandatory for UART or is the JTAG integrated UART compatible to “normal” uart. I’d love to hook up a ESP8266 to this port

              I can’t seem to update to v1.22, it just says “Failed (-7)”. I don’t know what the -7 error means. I tried checking the wiki but it’s not working.

                Forgot to mention that the SD has to be formatted with cluster size of >=8kB due to increased size of the fw. Will add it on release notes above.

                  Is the USB Blaster mandatory for UART or is the JTAG integrated UART compatible to “normal” uart. I’d love to hook up a ESP8266 to this port

                  It’s using JTAG interface to access Altera/Intel propiertary UART module so a basic serial cable/adapter doesn’t work. Perhaps there’s JTAG library for ESP8266 that could be used with suitable tools to access it, but probably easier to buy just a verified cheap USB Blaster clone.

                    Thanks for the reply, I’ll reformat the card with a cluster size of 8kb and see if that works.

                      Did a bit of testing with the new firmware. I noticed that when I try to set either the HDMI aspect ratio flag or disable HDMI PR2x it won’t save to the flash memory or to the SD card. It just resets when you turn the OSSC off and on. Don’t know if I’m doing something wrong on my end, but it doesn’t seem to save whenever I try.

                      Edit: Or it does save, as I noticed it saved on one of my profiles on the SD card. Not really sure what’s going on. It seems random. Or maybe it’s an issue when saving over an existing profile.

                        There seems to be copy-paste issue where VRR Flag, HDMI AR flag and PR2x are saved under same ID.

                          I can’t compile the jic, neither on Windows nor on Ubuntu, mass verilog errors. Can you share sof-file v.1.22?

                            Finally project is compiled, jic file is generated on Quartus v24, 2K size, but no luck, hardware won’t start. Is special options exist for Quartus v.24.1?
