I am looking for a solution for getting improved video output from a PAL Gamecube to a 4K TV. I am trying to decide between the Carby and OSSC. As I understand it, the Carby is intended to be used on its own rather than in conjunction with an OSSC. If I buy the Carby, would that make the OSSC redundant for my needs (and vice-versa)?

Well, you could use them both in tandem, OSSC has a few options that Carby does not, like 480p x 2 mode (if your TV/Monitor is compatible). Carby should have you covered pretty much on its own though.

Best way to improve the picture on a PAL Gamecube is to use homebrew and either run NTSC software or force your PAL titles into 480p.
