Received my unit today, but can’t try it out properly because it isn’t responding to the included remote. The green LED does not blink when pressing buttons (the indicator on the remote is blinking, so it should work). Can the IR detector on my unit be faulty?
July 26, 2016 at 9:04 AM #8161On the remote itself, try pressing the “TV” button in the top left corner then try it with the OSSC again.
July 26, 2016 at 11:40 AM #8164Yeah I’ve tried that, no response. Held the remote right up to the sensor too.
July 26, 2016 at 1:46 PM #8165@Harrumph; my remote didn’t work at first either. I replaced the batteries for another set and after some more random presses it eventually decided to display the light near the top of it. So perhaps try that?
July 26, 2016 at 5:57 PM #8166In that case it sounds like either the remote is faulty and has lost its programming or the OSSC IR sensor doesn’t work. Since I have to manually program the remote when I get them in, each one is tested but I guess it is possible one slipped through. Would you be happy for me to send you out a tested replacement remote as a first step, then if that doesn’t work we’ll RMA the OSSC itself?
July 26, 2016 at 8:17 PM #8167@coderkind; the remote does respond to button presses, the red light indicates, but the green indicator on the OSSC doesn’t.
@BuckoA51; I suppose potentially the IR sender/receiver on the remote could also be at fault, so I’m gonna see if I can get it to work on my TV, it is a “universal remote” after all. I’ll get back to you after some tests tonight.July 26, 2016 at 8:37 PM #8168Ok that will at least tell us if the remote can send IR, though if it has lost its programming I’ll still need to send you another out.
July 26, 2016 at 10:30 PM #8169Ok so the remote does work with my TV (TV commands taught as “Sat/DVB” so as not to accidentaly remove any programming from the “TV” button). But, I tried to program the remote for the OSSC manually (pressing B1 on start-up), but still no response.
So yeah, like you said maybe start by simply sending me a new one. Should I send you an email?July 27, 2016 at 12:55 AM #8173OSSC can only recognise NEC protocol I believe, so we still can’t tell if the OSSC is at fault or if the remote has just lost its programming somehow. Yeah I better send you a new remote out as a first step, drop me an e-mail and I’ll sort it tomorrow for you.
July 27, 2016 at 8:59 AM #8174Thanks, emailed!
November 9, 2017 at 9:26 AM #16980Exact same issue for me.
My remote has worked fine for my 1.6 since I got it some weeks ago.
Switched on this morning and nothing.. Ossc doesn’t flash when I press anything, though the led on the remote flashes.Edit: fixed! Held the TV button for a few seconds and now it works again.
November 13, 2017 at 12:07 PM #17139Hello,
I have just received my ossc. The remote seems to work ok except from buttons “1” and “TV” and so i cannot update the ossc to the latest fw because “1”=Yes during update, and also cannot change ossc modes without entering the menu. All the other remote commands seems to work ok.
Any ideas?
November 13, 2017 at 1:19 PM #17140Hmm… have you tried fresh batteries in the remote?
Have you tried holding it at a slight angle from the OSSC?
November 13, 2017 at 1:24 PM #17141Batteries are brand new, but also tested another 2 pairs. Tried different angles even though all the other buttons work. When i press and hold the other buttons on the remote the Red Led blinks constantly. When i press and hold 1 or TV though the red led on the remote blinks just once….
November 13, 2017 at 1:27 PM #17142Ok, we need to send you a new remote then, I’ll get one out to you if you e-mail in.
