In case anyone other than me happens to have this same hardware combination available, I threw together a Powershell script (yes, Windows, sorry) that will monitor the inputs on the GamesCare SCART switch via its WebUI and auto-change the profile on a Retrotink 4K to an associated profile.

I also added a bunch of UI buttons to be able to control the Rt4K via the Windows interface, it does mean that the Rt4K needs to be plugged into your Windows device via USB.  I did plan on making an adapter to be able to do this via the VGA I2C type interface that the Rt4K supports, but I didn’t get around to it.

If anyone wanted to have a play, it’s here; https://github.com/KnightNZ/GamescareRT4K

Thanks! You’d think at that price point the RT4K would have networking too. I bet we could take what you did here and do similar for the Morph 4K, perhaps the OSSC Pro as well (that has USB but it’s currently not used for anything). I’ll post it as a suggestion.

If there is comms available via the USB interface on the OSSC Pro, then I’ve got one of those as well so should be able to make an OSSC version of the script easily enough. I don’t have a Morph so can’t help you there. 🙂

There should be I think it’s just waiting for Markus to hook it up in the fw.

This sounds to be even more practical after wobbling pixels released 70+ profiles for ossc pro. Do you think a raspberry pi pico 2 with the wireless module could be used in this case? I’m not technical guy and i could be talking gibberish nonsense, but it does have 802.11n wifi functions (Infineon CYW43439 chip) and it’s great microcontroller for local network automation. It would be great to load profiles based on signal switching and talk with the SCART switched for detecting platforms. I will definitely follow the thread.

Technically it should be possible to use wifi module with the USB port but writing the software would not be trivial, I think we’d be better off starting with a simple USB to PC connection like Steve suggested.
