      Hello,

I’ve noticed a problem with the OSSC and my MISTer when running on my TCL TV. Everything looks great until there’s a vertically scrolling part of a game. The scanlines blur and seem to disappear. I recently bought a MISTer and I’m seeing the same thing. It’s frustrating as the games are running perfectly. Any help is appreciated.

      Thanks.

Totally normal it’s just how your eyes see it. You may notice it less using techniques such as black frame insertion but this is only available on certain high end TVs.

Make sure that the TV’s motion compensated frame insertion is turned off (I don’t know what TCL calls theirs). MCFI causes a lot of artifacts because it has to make guesses on what to do whenever there is conflicting motion.

Good point Zacabeb, definitely always use game mode with OSSC or any other retro scaler.
