I can’t get video to appear correctly on my new OSSC v1.7.
I have a SNES (it’s a famicom actually, but same thing). From the SNES I have an original Nintendo cable with a SCART shaped plug, but I assume is a JP-21 plug since I did get it in Japan. With the OSSC, I also bought the JP-21 to SCART for this reason.
However with the JP-21 to SCART adapter, I’m not getting a good video. It’s very dark with almost no color.
I’ve tried switching out the famicom with another famicom, that’s not the issue. The famicom does work well via composite directly to tv). Tested with multiple games, same issue.

OSSC is set to “AV1: RGBS 262P”. None of the other AV1 inputs display thing when connected.

      My setup:

Took apart the JP-21 connector and it seems to be causing this issue. It has 3 capacitors on it (220uf 6.3v), all 3 seems to have outlived their lifetime, they only seem to hold between 20uf~100uf when tested. Board also need some cleaning an a reflow. Will get replace and cleanup. Hopefully will resolve all the issues.

Yes I’ve seen that before, caps need replacing.

Just a follow up, replaced the capacitors today. The picture now looks crisp and perfect.

If anyone has one of these 30 year old SNES JP21 adapters, I suggest replacing the capacitors. New ones were much longer, but they fit just fine.
