I’ve got an OSSC set up to line2x 576i (but the problem also happens with passthrough) with my pal PS2 with component cables. My tv is a Philips LCD-TV 47PFL3007T/12.
I’m getting about half a second where the picture disappears and the red LED on the ossc lights up. Randomly during gameplay but reliably 2 times during the intro cutscene in god of war 1.
This usually happens when a game switches between interlaced and non-interlaced output.
I’m not sure if this is the case with God of War, but check the display on the OSSC when this happens to see if the input has switched from 576i to 288p.
Can you also let us know what kind/brand of component cable you’re using?
Generic component cables from eBay
No, no resolution change according to the ossc display
Might be a bad component cable.
