Sync in SCART board guide 5V?

      Hi,

      I’m looking at – https://videogameperfection.com/products/sync-in-scart-board/

      The guide for it is – https://retrorgb.com/syncinscart.html

      I’m just wondering, why is the guide connecting 5V (pin 8) from the TV side, not from the console side?

      SCART is bi-directional and I suppose TV does output 5V on pin 8, but the TV is the receiver in this scenario, so it shouldn’t be outputting 5V back into the SCART cable, no?

      How is this “5V conflict” resolved if I had just plugged a regular (no sync stripper) fully wired SCART cable from the console into the TV?

        Pin 8 is used for RGB voltage signalling, it’s not coming from the TV but from the connecting equipment.

          I am aware, but the way it’s used in the guide I believe the author thought they can power the circuit board by using 5V from the TV, so is the guide wrong?
          These board are powered from the 5V from the consoles, no?
