So my TV doesnt seem to have the ability to accept both HDMI video and stereo sound at the same time. So I was wondering if anyone has tested a device that combines the vga output with stereo to hdmi out and had success?
The easiest way would be to use an OSSC audio upgrade board and simply feed in the analogue audio via the AV1/SCART connector. You can use an old/spare composite to SCART adapter for this.
slightly confused. doesnt the ossc output vga and stero via a headphones jack? Im unsure why I’d want to output to scart?
The OSSC outputs DVI-D.
Have you tried to set TX mode to DVI?
The 2 TV sets I have (LG and Sony) turn off the analog stereo input when TX mode is set to HDMI.
What you want is an HDMI audio integrator. There is an older topic on the subject: https://videogameperfection.com/forums/topic/atlona-dvi-and-audio-to-hdmi-embedder/
