Hey everyone, I’m looking to upgrade my rig and I’m a bit stuck on choosing the right CPU for gaming.

I’ve seen a lot of mixed opinions between Intel and AMD lately. Also wondering how much difference the best motherboard for gaming makes when paired with a high-end processor.

Any recommendations or experiences you can share?

I think the best is still the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D though you might want to check benchmarks of the higher end Intel CPUs as they may have slightly better single threaded performance which can benefit some emulators.

You find very low price mini pcs with amd ryzen 5 pro with vega 7 or something like, this was absolutely enough for snes, n64, game cube or sega…
I got one 3 months ago for 350 € incl. shipping costs… nice device and great performance for few money!
There was said, intel is a shit for emulators or general emulating, you find enough information about that on several websites… amd ryzens are supposed to handle snes9x or glideN64 or like that more well then a suspicious intel! 😉
