      Hello everyone:

New owner here, very pleased with the build quality! I’ve used this in several configurations in which it works well, but I’m having a problem converting my original Xbox signal to display on a VGA computer monitor.

I have the Xbox connected via component to the OSSC and I have an HDMI-to-VGA converter going to the monitor. The Xbox is outputting in 480p in this game. The monitor will display a beautiful, sharp image for about 3 seconds, but then it will cut to black for about 5 seconds. It does this loop endlessly. I tried to look up this problem and found a similar- sounding issue in which the recommendation was to change either H-PLL post coast or 480p in sampler, but neither of those affected the issue. The problem also appears in the gray test signal sent by the OSSC to the monitor on startup, independently of the Xbox. I have tested the OSSC with several TVs and I know the monitor works fine; I think it’s some signal sync/frequency issue in the specific handshake between the OSSC and the monitor but I am at a loss. Any ideas?

The monitor is a ViewSonic G220fb CRT, if that makes any difference.

use an external PSU on your HDMI to VGA converter or use a different HDMI converter.

I’ve tried two different ones. I am not aware of a converter with a PSU, how would that affect it?
