Turned out it was my Character ROM, bought a modern replacement and now it’s fixed.
Same for me as well, i tried a FAT16 formatted SD as well and i just get a non readable SD afterwards.

I fitted it, all sorted now, i needed to do the oscilator mod on my PAL board and update the firmware.
Oh ok its not then, which model c64 mine was an older breadbin that had 407 part no inside, apparantly has a complicated clock circuit.
i updated mine to 2.10 and it didnt really fix it, i had to do the pixel clock fix.
Isnt your issue thesampling phase of the OSSC setting though? try adjusting it in andvanced settings.
Just wanted to check, i need to create an intel account to download the lite version, then download the driver pack called max 10 fpga device as well?
I really dont wanna mess my board up haha

Sorry to add to this post, my install also does the artifact for 5 mins until warmed up, ive had mine installed since december so not sure what firnware is on mine.
Are there any instructions for updating? I have several USB programmers so hopefully have something i can use.
