      I have to admit I actually went out and bought a new Sega Genesis to fix this issue, which I assumed was caused by my using a VA6, and I ALMOST bought a new SCART cable while I was at it. The high pitched ringing/chirping was VERY noticeable in Shining Force, especially during the town music, and I never would have assumed it was a digital issue.

      I updated my firmware to .81 and the problem was immediately resolved.

        The TCL S405 is reported as working in Line 5x mode for NES and SNES, and it does, but the geometry is off. The picture appears to be cut off on all sides by several pixels, particularly on the top and bottom. Line 3x and 4x remain perfectly centered. Cycling through different 4:3 aspect ratio modes did nothing to fix the problem.

          Hisense 55H6B, date of manufacture 2015. 3x/4x work flawlessly with SNES, 5x works but it’s a little smushed/cropped, and aspect ratio would have to be adjusted.
