My solution is a longshot but may apply to you.

I had a peripheral, namely divmmc sd card reader plugged into my +3 and using the exact same cable you have. Had a very dark picture, despite being connected directly to the ossc.

I used some contact cleaner on the spectrum’s interface slot and plugged it all back it. seems some gunk had been causing massive picture interference. So my only suggestion is pull your speccy apart and give it all a good clean, it may work!

very similar setup, my tv is a samsung UE5000 series and connected via nintendo component cables also. with the wii set as 480p and tv set to 16:1 i can get x2 to display fullscreen no issues. unsupported in all other modes.

In every situation the ossc has improved the picture, x4 on the consoles works like charm! I can only get x2 working on my a1200, it’s nice and crisp but it really isn’t a huge improvement for me over scart to tv .. need a way to do a screen grab to show my point 🙂

That said, with low strength scanlines does darken my picture perfectly, seems my cable displays the image a little on the bright side.

Wish I had a solution for the op here, my issue is in workbench, I guess he may get garbage from boot up which indicates a possible tv incompatability than a monitor type driver issue.

ahh the amiga, possibly the biggest downer i had using the ossc, though not a disaster.

i use a samsung tv with scart all hooked up in x2 and is fine, though apart from slight colour improvement i see no difference at all from scart to tv. it is working with x5 but the image is stretched and distorted.

using 3.1 workbench and 3.0 roms monitor types are limited.. also only have pal high res, pal high res interlace and ntsc with interlace. through the ossc it does no deinterlacing at all, passthrough mode as well .. odd. with scart straight to tv i get nice deinterlacing.

my only hunch is the monitor types and the drivers for these.

am using a hama scart switch, works faultlessly bar one odd issue.

hooking a spectrum +3 and divmmc sd card expansion, via rgb scart directly to ossc, no issue. same setup with hama and the spectrum doesnt recognise the divmmc.

anyone else with a similar issue or a fix please let me know.

Hello, my OSSC has recently been dispatched so looking forward to that, praying my tv doesn’t cause issue!

Anyways, I do have an S-video modded Atari XL that I would like to hook up to the OSSC using a scart switch. Im not overly fussed if it makes any visual difference, well aware the device doesn’t support. However, for convenience I would like it hooked up to the rest of the switcher.

Would the Keene RGB2C Syncblaster be of any use here, has anyone tried it? Not sure I heard right but would a DVD recorder do the job to, converted s-video to RGB. I have a passive scart adapter and this runs nicely on the tv but will the signal get through the OSSC without hiccup?

                Any tips here appreciated 🙂
