When I use bob 2x the colors are wrong. 4x works for me, but I’m reluctant to use bob interlacing because I’m afraid to burn images into my screen. Changing the horizontal sample rate seems to work, but I can’t explain why.

So I found that playing with the H. Sample Rate made the picture come in. It defaults to 858 but it will work in the range of 839-855 and 861-877. I can’t explain how it fixed the issue, but it did. I had random video dropouts but I’ve set it to 847 and that seems to be stable so far.

In troubleshooting a problem I had with my receiver I found something that fixed the Wii dropout issues I used to have. I changed the H. Sample Rate from 858 to 847 (480i) and 849 (480P). I can’t explain how that made it go away, but it did seem to work.

No luck with the .81 firmware. Same issue.

I use the receiver for a few reasons. Mostly, I’m lazy and this means I never have to change the TV input 🙂 Also because I like the sound coming through the speakers and because I use its dual output to run video to the TV and a capture card at the same time. I appreciate the advice on the firmware. I’ll give it a try and report back.

I had a similar issue when I was running my sources through two YPbPr switches. Going through one was fine, going through two meant occasional dropouts.
