      Thanks mate, I tried it and it had worked after all – OSX still doesn’t recognise it but I guess that’s normal.

        @punkmachine thanks for the tip but I am getting probably errors using Etcher – I downloaded the latest firmware, renamed it to img from bin but then I get an error message in Etcher:

        ‘It looks like this is not a bootable image…’

        If I continue on the program writes to the image but then I get a mac error:

        ‘The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer’ – with the option to Initialise (which does nothing), Ignore or Eject.

        I’m guessing it didn’t work or is it just that the OSSC will accept it, just not my mac now for some reason? Don’t want to try updating it with a borked image on the sd card!

        @digichan
        – did you run into any issues at all?

          Garbled audio too – I’ve ordered a replacement 1 Chip from a repair guy who had one in stock – I’ll get an AV cable as well and test this one but if it’s still rubbish (and it’s like this on all carts already) then it’ll likely go in the bin 🙁 can’t imagine anyone wanting to buy it even for a tenner!

          Thanks for your help Morpheus – much obliged.

            Thanks for the tip – that got the sound on alright. The issue with my SNES remains – I guess it’s either console or cable…

            It was fine last night, what a pain 🙁

                Ahhhhh, no that helped a LOT! Thanks! Got the horizontal mask and the overscan is now gone which is awesome as in 5x everything looks great 🙂 I’ll save this profile and then try tweaking things a little more to see if I can improve things a bit – when I put scan lines on you can’t really tell but I’m not sure how I feel about scan lines. I know some people love them…

                  Thanks very much for the reply! Just one note, it’s an RGBS modded NES, not a SNES so some of those issues shouldn’t be relevant here I don’t think? The scart I have comes from David at Oldskoolconsoles and I’m told it’s a great one with good shielding but I guess you never know. The PSU is generic but again it came from him – this might have more to do with it maybe. The lines aren’t hugely noticeable I just feel like it should be better – I’ll try and play around with a few settings though I can’t find them for some reason. If I press menu and get: Video LPF I can scroll through those settings but I can’t access anything else sampling, sync, output, post-proc etc – I feel like I’ve hit every button but that’s all I see. No doubt it’s easy but the guides don’t seem to go into ‘stupid person’ detail so any tips?

                  That aside thanks so much for taking the time to reply and in great detail, I really appreciate it!
