I prefer thin scanlines and I always use 3x or 5x mode. So I guess there is not much difference to a 4k monitor. In Line4x the scanlines are too thick for my taste.
I tried interlaced content with Line2x and 4x, but I haven’t played a lot yet. I didn’t notice anything strange. What does this image retention look like, when it occurs?
I have a Philips BDM3270QP/00. It is a 32″ monitor with a 2.560 x 1.440 resolution. And it is amazing in my opinion. The best monitor I have had so far. The only downside is that it is not 4K. But picture qualitiy is outstanding, backlighting is even and lag is low.
Consoles I tested:
SNES, Saturn, PLaystation 1, original Xbox, PS2, Wii, Dreamcast
Everything worked fine with 100% compatibility (3x-5x and 480p –> 960p).
