I ended up going with the LG SK9000 65″

And I’m quite happy to report that along with a gorgeous picture, all of the OSSC’s line modes are supported.

2x, 3x, 4x and 5x work terrific with the Genesis, PS1, Sega Saturn, and the SNES works perfectly with 2x and 3x and will also do 4x and 5x, but has an occasional dropout when using 4x and 5x. But, it’s great 90% of the time. I have a suspicion that it can be fixed by tinkering around with the timings in the OSSC menu. Still, this TV will do it all and looks amazing, minus the small hiccups with the SNES.

At 5x. Please, excuse the crap cellphone pic.

If I were you I’d consider the TCL R617 (Best Buy: R615). $500 cheaper but pretty much as feature rich, and has VA panel instead of IPS. Input lag was also comparable at pretty much 1 frame in game mode. Previous reports regarding OSSC compatibility have been very favourable.

That’s actually pretty impressive for such an affordable set. I only checked the thread an hour or so after my post, so I missed your reply.

Hey, people, long time lurker, first time poster. I’ve been thinking of picking up a 4k TV and have been leaning toward LG as their newer models seem to be pretty friendly with all of the OSSC modes. My current Sony, which is a flagship from 2011 doesn’t like anything other than 2x, even after following the tweaking guide.

Anyone have any guesses on this badboy? LOL!
