Well it isnt “blurry” per say, just not as sharp as it could be compared to 2x mode. Like taking any signal and using 2x, 3x, or 4x mode they always look noticeably sharper than passthrough mode. It all comes down to how my tv handles those signals. It is pretty bad at upscaling anything below 720p
I guess my best bet is to wait for the ossc pro then. I was planning on upgrading anyway, but i can use these settings in the meantime. As for now ill be sticking with option 1. My tv doesnt have consistent zooming options and it kind of works on a per resolution basis. I can zoom in on option 2 but it does not get me anywhere near as much screen fill as option 1 does. I did have upsample2x off. I do not even know what that does honestly.
And could messing with the sampling and lpf thing help me get the 480×272 mode working? I have no idea what either option does.
Ok now i see what was going on. 768×432 does give a larger picture. But my tv can zoom further in on the 576×324 picture, and that is why it appeared larger, as well as less sharp. The 768×432 looks good for what it is but i was hoping for more screen filled. I guess i can live with the less sharp 576×324, at least for now. Any chance the ossc pro will be able to make this more possible?
Wait i hadnt considered my tv’s fill settings. Im going to try that quick with 2x mode
And yes i was using 768×432 in line 2x mode. 576×324 in 1x mode fills the screen substantially more. I do want to preserve aspect ratio
How do i turn the sampling lpf off? I found the option for video lpf and turned it from auto to off
Any other insight? I never knew my tv could cause this much trouble
Well it is not as sharp as i was hoping, but option 1 gives me the most screen. I would use my ps tv if nothing else but the upscaling on it looks terrible.
The first option you gave me fills a lot more than the second…
I tried the 640×360 setting and my tv only syncs in 1x mode. In 2x mode i get no picture
Also i dont see a way to adjust v refresh? Maybe im reading the menus wrong.
Sync drops if i go below v 322 in 1x mode
In 2x mode anyway, in 1x mode i can go lower
How low should i be able to go? I got my h active down to 480 and could go lower but my v active loses sync at anything lower than 424
