I’d probably prefer to return it for a fix rather than risk buggering it up any more with my lackluster soldering skills. I’ll contact Bucko and see if I’m still under warranty. Cheers for your help 🙂
Yeah? Is that a problem that a novice could fix or do you think i’d need to return it? Yeah, the Red is showing as black. The flickering still remains as well so I imagine this problem is also connected to that.
Yeah me too. It was two separate VGA cables both tested with the same VGA box. It’s super weird as everybody else has raved about the Dreamcast image being incredible. I hope I’m not missing something super obvious. Would it be worth sending the unit back for testing?
Yeah I have also tried that but still, nothing makes it better. I saw Adam’s review and wondered whether this may be the same problem. What do you suggest I do? As the Dreamcast was a big reason for me getting this.
Cheers.
Yeah, I’m using DTV in 480, but it still looks bad.
This is a picture of the image straight through into my TV.
And this one is when it passes through the OSSC.
The image is not only darker in the second picture but the dithering and checkerbox effect is dramatically increased. It’s also apparent when capturing the image via an Elgato HD60.
Any ideas?
It turns out that it was definitely the wrong cable. I have tried it with the sync on luma and scart and it seems to be working perfectly. I’m a tad annoyed at the guy who modded my console as he specifically told me that it was the correct cable. nevermind, just glad it’s working and I haven’t damaged anything.
No, not forcing anything, just plain old PAL n64 games. I’m going to try this cable when it comes back in stock;(https://www.retrogamingcables.co.uk/nintendo/super-nintendo/super-nintendo-pal-rgb-av-scart-cable-lead-cord-for-sale)
Unless you can recommend any other ones? I don’t trust the cheap ones on eBay.
NUS-001(EUR) with Tim Worthington RGB mod wired for use with Super Nintendo NTSC CSYNC from Retrogamingcables.co.uk. Do you think I should try the Luma as Sync cable instead?
Yes, All other consoles work fine. I just managed to get it to work but has now stopped again. I plugged the N64 straight into the RGB Scart on the TV and started up Rogue Squadron and it found the 480i singnal no problem, then I unplugged it form the TV and tried it back through the ossc, this time it worked, So I turned off the N64 and put in NBA live 99 and it still worked, though it looked like the ossc was continuing to bob deinterlace the picture. I then turned everything off and then back on with the console going into the ossc and now I have no picture with either game. Hope you followed that. This is really weird.
