PixelFX brings you a true, pure digital video output upgrade for the original PlayStation console. Order this upgrade and ship us your PlayStation 1 console (SCPH-550x and SCPH-700x. models ONLY) and we will supply, professionally install and test this amazing upgrade.

Note – We now use PixelFX’s GEM board for this upgrade. More information here. The version supplied with your console will be GEM Basic, with the option to upgrade to GEM Shiny at any time.

Once installed, you can play the original, classic PlayStation console on any HDTV and get the crispest, most noise free image possible from the classic machine.

Features:

• Native digital video and audio, no conversion to/from analogue at any time
• Output line doubled 480p
• Output interger scaled 960p (requires Shiny upgrade).
• Output in 1080p and 1200p is also supported (960p with borders) for pixel perfect presentation with the correct aspect ratio (requires Shiny upgrade).
• Extensive scanline options (advanced scanlines and filters require Shiny upgrade)
• In Game Reset with XStation support to reset back to loader and swap discs from the controller
• WiFi Updates
• Instant 240p to 480i switching
• Built in PSNEE support to make consoles region free*
• Built in dual frequency oscillator to ensure console runs at the correct refresh, regardless of region of game being played
• Uses a full size standard HDMI cable.

Note – Currently this upgrade installs by removing the consoles link cable port. While WiFi link cable capability has been promised in a future upgrade, it is NOT yet available.

* Japanese consoles require a custom BIOS to enable region free support. Please contact us first if this is something you require.

Compatibility

PS1Digital can be installed on PU-18 and PU-20 Motherboard models (All regions). These motherboards are found in SCPH-550x and SCPH-700x. Please ensure your console is compatible before shipping it. If you ship us an incompatible console we will unfortunately have to charge you for return postage.
