Sega Megadrive/Genesis Triple Bypass board (Version 2+)

The Triple Bypass is a audio and video mod for your Megadrive/Genesis console. Originally developed by DB Electronics and enhanced by Tian Feng, this new, further enhanced version of the board by the skilled retro console modder Zaxour now packs even more functionality:-

• Integrated pull up resistors for model 1 installs
• Output pads for easier composite video restoration
• Output pads for model 1 headphone Jack restoration
• DIN mounting board for model 1 consoles

The triple Bypass combines two popular modifications. Firstly, it is an RGB bypass mod with a THS7374 video amplifier which improves and updates the consoles RGB amplifier for the cleanest, crispest RGB possible. Secondly, the board also includes the popular “Mega Amp” mod to clean up the consoles often muddy audio. This can significantly improve the audio quality on many Megadrive 2 consoles which suffer from poor audio output. Now you can have perfect audio and video quality from your Megadrive 2 or 3 console!

Finally, the board allows for an (optional) 9 pin MiniDIN to be used in place of the Model 1 console’s 8 pin DIN.

Version 2+ of the Triple Bypass board is a one size fits all design and will work with any genuine Sega Megadrive/Genesis console, including Genesis 3 and now even the Sega CDX/Multi Mega.

Version 2+ of the board has been tested and tweaked extensively using the MD Fourier Software to ensure the best, most authentic sound quality.

You can also order the mod with a 9 pin Mini DIN connector and mounting board if your project requires it, or simply route the RGB output to the consoles existing video connector. Megadrive/Genesis 2 consoles already have a 9 pin MiniDIN connector so do not require this part.
