Will there be a future batch of v1.6, or a future version revision? Or is this the end of the road?
If there’s not going to be more units due to end of life on components etc, I’ll order more.
No end of life on components that I’m aware of, except possibly the firmware flash chip but there’s a drop-in replacement for that anyway.
Not sure if this is the proper thread for this, but I just noticed that in photos of the OSSC the component input plugs are in the wrong order, RGB instead of the proper GBR order. Is this something that has been corrected in 1.6?
That’s how the plug comes from the supplier, you’d have to take it up with them 🙂
Thanks for the reply. Well, I’m not the one making/selling the device.
But how strange. I can’t find a single cable or input that doesn’t have it in the green-blue-red order, so this seems like an oversight. It’s obviously not a dealbreaker, but a bit unfortunate as it means having to twist the cable in order to fit this order, for no apparent reason other than someone probably made a mistake.
Hmm, all our ones from Digikey for the DIY kits are the same order as the picture too.
So I JUST made an order earlier today, so am I in that list for the batch that the manufacturer is working on right now or am I gonna be waiting longer? If so, do you think it’ll arrive around the later half of September atleast? Not a big deal if I have to wait long, just trying to plan ahead since I’m going back to college soon.
Yeah, I also would like to know whether or not I’m in the current batch.
I ordered mine on July 8 (the day immediately after money had been transferred to the manufacturer).
everyone who orders now is in the batch that’s currently being manufactured. If all units were allocated I’d close off orders. However, this current manufacturing run might be split into two, with one lot arriving earlier than the other. When I know for certain how many will arrive early I’ll let people know.
There is not a quoted tone from the manufacturer?
a quoted tone?
I think he meant a quoted time.
Both I/O and N/M are keys next to one another on a QWERTY keyboard.
BookKid is indeed correct, i sent that from my phone on Swype and it must have autocorrected to tone.
Right, the 90 days was the quoted time.
That was quoted as “The worst case scenario”, not the actual date when they’d be ready.
Considering that you’ve said that production is going along fine on the 21st, and now that the kits are for sale along with the PCBs arriving, people are wondering if you had a better/newer estimate on when the OSSCs would arrive for shipment. (Even if it is only for the earlier batch)
