You know for the longest time I thought this was a bug until a couple of months ago it struck me. It should probably look that way as 480p x2 gives 480 scanlines correct? In 1x mode it would only be able to give 240 scanlines. But when 480p is doubled you can actually have each scanline take up half of a line doubled pixel, yea? Which is what it seems to do on 240p sources when they are line multiplied. Anyway, I tried 480p x2 using scanlines from the Garo for component and slg3000 for Dreamcast VGA and I don’t feel those look authentic anymore. The scanlines feel too fat like they do in 480i.

Television only supports 1080p so the downsampling makes it look all wonky. Maybe I should have bought a 4k haha 🙂

The Crystalio II handles the 480i/576i Line3x and Line4x but it downsizes the 3x which looks like poop (obviously).

Just acquired a PMS Crystalio II VPS-3300. Don’t see it on the compatibility list but it accepts all modes from the OSSC. Updating the OSSC firmware now and I can test more.

I have a question if anyone has an experience with this scenario. 4:3 works fine with 480p x2 mode. I can enable dot by dot mode on my display and everything is as crisp as can be. But when I change the game to 16:9 the OSSC squishes the image. Is there a way in the sampling settings to expand the screen so it is the proper ratio? I don’t know what I’m really doing yet and either I lose the option to use dot by dot or the image is all wonky. Cheers!

In response to my previous post asking about the Toshiba 55L421U 1080p TV. I purchased one from Best Buy today and it worked splendidly with line 4x and 5x. Although 5x cut off the screen but there are probably tweaks I can do. It had a dead pixel out of the box so I’m gonna go grab another unit tomorrow.

This is more of a question aimed at @Mikeyy00 if he has a chance to see it. I’m leaning on purchasing 55L421U television and was wondering if line x4 and x5 worked?

Are you planning on notifying the couple of people who lost their spots? Only curious since I was one of those below the 40’s. It wouldn’t be the end of the world if I was bumped I’m just wondering. 🙂
