I had something similar with an Insurrection Industries PS1 cable, it was missing some 220uf capacitors and was exhibiting a LOT of ghosting and since I replaced it with the Model 2 Genesis HDRETROVISION cable + adapter; I haven’t looked back lol
Another sorta dumb suggestion, but if you have a modern TV check if you have any firmware updates, sometimes my LG OLED drops signal because of those, only to be restored a few days later by a new update.
