With my SNES hooked up to my Vizio M65-C1 TV, when I switch from LIne-3X mode to Line-5X mode (both set to 4:3 aspect ratio in the Output Options menu) the aspect ratio changes (becomes stretched horizontally in Line-5X mode). Changing the aspect ratio option from 4:3 to 256×240 makes the image look low-resolution and botchy. Actually even switching the video output between HDMI and DVI causes the image to change aspect ratio and clarity (I figured sound was the only difference between the two)
Can you explain why changing line multiplication mode affects the aspect ratio instead of just the sharpness? What settings are recommended for SNES (in DVI mode)? I don’t understand all the settings involving clocks and phase-locked-loops and offsets, etc. So complete listings of every setting that needs to be changed from factory default would be helpful!
Most disappointingly, my new OSSC does not appear to work with the SNES on my 2015 Vizio M65-C1 television. I get picture but no sound (actually, there are intermittent periods of partial audio output, but it’s essentially mute). This was tested both with the HDMI audio add-in board as well as going through the 3.5mm audio jack. Also, depending on what line multiplier setting is used, the video occasionally cuts out for a second or two before coming back.
On my BenQ SW2700PT monitor, everything seems to work well!
Looks like I will be sticking with the composite input of my DLP-600W mini projector for my big-screen gaming needs.
Just wanted to throw this out there; if you don’t have a compatible TV for this bad boy, and still want to experience de-interlaced, lag-free console gaming in HD-720p (I’m not sure if it is upscaled or intended output resolution) that is 100% compatible with all consoles that have component-out (as well as HDMI), I have had great experience with the DLP-600W Mini Projector (branded iCodis CB-300W). Best of all, it also has Android OS (comes with Netflix, YouTube, Internet, etc built-in)

I also just purchased the OSSC and will report back on test results and first impressions with the Vizio M65-C1 TV and BenQ SW2700PT monitor as soon as I get it 🙂
