So far it appears that my Sega Genesis is the only console that runs with no issue on line3x with a DVDO Edge and ASUS VA325H monitor. SNES has sync issues though works on line 2x. Saturn works fine on line3x but the 240p/480i switch is much quicker on line 2x, I’m assuming the N64 would be the same. I’ll miss line3x :(.

In my OSSC DVDO setup, sometimes the ossc will lose sync, then sometimes it’s the DVDO Edge losing it, or both at the same time. I’m pretty baffled as I thought the edge could “normalize” the signal of the SNES. Don’t remember which model SNES I have but it’s definitely a two chip, I think from 1993

Regarding the OSSC showing a higher resolution than being output, basically there are more lines being sent out than output to a display which are reserved for data such as closed captioning. Games consoles don’t use these but still output the same expanded resolution.

There’s a note somewhere in the 240p test suite that explains this way better than I do.

I’ve been getting a similar issue with the previous OSSC revision (plus audio board) and HD Retrovision cables, even when feeding into a DVDO Edge. I might go and purchase an RGB SCART cable and try again, lest I have to downgrade to s video. Display is an Asus VA32h.

dumb question but just to be sure, the OSSC 1.5 with audio board would need ossc_0.77-aud.bin, right?

EDIT: sorry, took a minute to find the answer (yes) on JunkerHQ.

There are profiles on the OSSC but if you’re just passing through the signal of your PS2 and Wii why not just connect them directly into the iScan?

Unfortunately don’t have RGB cables at the moment.

Anyway, kinda solved the problem: received the DVDO Edge I bought and after a firmware update it worked just fine.

Been looking up info on an OSSC/Edge combo (have an OSSC from last batch in the mail and last night found a DVDO Edge for $200 with shipping), and from what I can understand, if I pair them with a fast display, the lag glitch with certain systems is probably unnoticeable, right?

Was actually thinking of pairing them with a PC monitor as I’ve previously had good results with a PS3 and even a Wii with a cheap ViewHD YPbPr to HDMI adapter on an Asus.
